Joey Santiago

Famous as the lead guitarist for the highly influential rock band, The Pixies, Joey is well known for his groundbreaking guitar style, which shaped the indie/alternative rock we hear today.

In addition to his high profile band history, Joey has also made a name for himself in the world of film and television music.  He was the original composer on the breakout dramedy “Weeds,” starring Mary-Louise Parker.   The Pixies huge reunion tour came in the way of his continuing on as composer on this show.  Other credits include songs for the indie film “Crime and Punishment in Suburbia,” as well as composer on the short-lived Judd Apatow Fox comedy “Undeclared.”

After that, when he had breaks from ongoing Pixies tours, Joey was able to find time to score the indie documentary “Radiant City,” as well as an episode of “Masters of Horror.”

Recent work also includes another indie, “All the Birds Have Flown South,” starring Joey Lauren Adams.
